Altadore Neighbourhood Information
Altadore is a residential neighbourhood in the southwest quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. It is located between 14th Street and Crowchild Trail, south of the community of South Calgary. It is bordered by the Elbow River and the River Park to the southeast.
The Marda Loop Business Revitalization Zone is located in the community, along 33rd and 34th Avenues SW.
Altadore was established in 1945. Ward 11 Alderman Brian Pincott represents Altadore in the Calgary City Council.
Education
The community was formerly served by King Edward Elementary and Junior High and Altadore Elementary public schools, as well as by Calgary Waldorf School, Glenmore Christian Academy and Lycee Louis Pasteur (private schools). The 2000/2001 school year was the last year that King Edward school would be open. The designated Junior High for Altadore is now Mount Royal Junior High School.
